Practical Cycling Is Not A Fad
Some people passing our shop assume that our bikes are just some fad, just some trend or fashion trying to attract attention that will pass same way the fashion for road bikes that started in 70s did, the same way the fashion for mountain bikes started in 90s has came to an end, I bet you still have 2 mountain bike lookalikes in your garage that you haven’t cycle for years.
We at AngelCruiser are pioneers of what I call “practical cycling” and practical cycling is here to stay, You now probably eager to learn what practical cycling is, practical cycling is a category of its own and was mainly non existent in Ireland before we appeared on the scene in early 2009 it is not to be confused with “city cycling”, people will “city cycle” any bike, from fixies with no mudguards, lights or gears to hi-tech road bikes or bulky mountain bikes that belong completely somewhere else, not only they are not practical but are even dangerous to use in a city.
Practical cycling is not sport, it is not fashion fad, it is cycling that does not complicate your life but makes it easy, the fact that you can jump on the bike at anytime and be on your way in minute, that is practical cycling the fact that your bike is very low maintenance and is always ready instead spending days in bike repair shop that is practical cycling, the fact that your bike does not need to be put together(like a folding bike) or carried from fifth floor to go for quick spin but instead you are not afraid to have it locked to the pole in the rain outside your house because practical bike can take it, not only that but it will bring you to work ,day after day without any hiccups it will take your children to creche or school safely and on the way back from work it will bring your groceries home, and it will do all of the above while keeping you comfortable and safe, practical bike is a workhorse when you need it and luxury ride when you don’t.
Practical bike has long mudguards, chain guard even dress guards to allow you to ride it in any outfit and any weather even high heels and long skirt going to meet some friends for cup of coffee.
Key attributes of practical bike.
Now that you know what practical cycling it is the time to tell you how practical bicycle should look like.
Of course our bikes look good and come in crazy colours but that’s not a reason to underestimate them and think they are in some way backwards, even with the classic looks, lively colours and lack of fast stripes and huge corporate logos in bold, they are light, easy to cycle and filled with modern and practical technologies including:
- Frames made of aircraft grade aluminium to make the frames as light as the modern hybrid bikes.
- Kevlar reinforced tires with reflective stripes to avoid punctures, to keep you more visible and save you time and money.
- Planetary gearbox hubs for reliability, speed and so your chain never comes off on the way to important meeting.
- Drum brakes with stainless steel cables to avoid paying for consumables and not having your bike safe to cycle
- Low consumption LED lights that are permanently attached to the bike so they cannot be lost or stolen and last up to a year on one set of batteries
Saying all of the above we still do sell the “old school” 45 pound heavy dutch classic, made of steel, with no gears, that has been selling for the past 90 years but it only accounts for 8% of our sales and it is not what our company is about anymore, we spend resources on constantly improving and innovating our bikes making them lighter, more reliable and comfortable for our customers.
So come to our boutique and see how practical bike can improve your life.
Make a more new posts please 🙂
